With the Cubs on Monday we were unfortunate that we were unable to have a fire outside due to the weather so we resulted to make some jacket potatoes with ham and cheese inside. The Cubs cut and prepared the jacket potatoes themselves. Also the young leaders explained how to be safe around the chopping area. They learned how to use an axe safely to make kindling and how to build a campfire and cook on one. Well done Cubs, brilliant night.
Great walk tonight with the scouts. All very well behaved. Still some issues with kit, please make sure that when we give a kit list, it is vitally important that it’s followed. These are the essentials and must be packed. Please double check when packing. This is gearing your children towards DofE and other awards it is also for their safety and the safety of the group. We didn’t quite manage the full 5 mile this evening but we will do some more walking this term.

Dr Peatfield will return in a couple of weeks to go through CV preparation and mock interview workshops. Hopefully the Explorers learned
The Explorers took part in the last few sections of their Young Leader Training last night. They did extremely well showing they could write evening programmes, plan activities, complete Risk Assessments, time manage and also work as a leadership Team. All the training seems to be working.
